How FAQFlow works

FAQFlow is a Shopify app that lets you create FAQs in a dashboard and publish them to your storefront through a lightweight widget. This guide walks through the full flow from install to “live on storefront”.

The end-to-end flow

  1. Install & authorize: the merchant installs FAQFlow and approves permissions via Shopify OAuth.
  2. Create FAQs: write questions/answers, group into categories, and publish.
  3. Widget delivery: the widget loads on the storefront and shows searchable FAQs where you’ve enabled it.
  4. Measure: track views/clicks to see what customers need most (plan dependent).

1) Install & connect your store

Go to the install page, enter your store.myshopify.com domain, and continue to Shopify. Shopify shows the permission screen, then redirects back to FAQFlow.

Once connected, FAQFlow can securely call Shopify APIs using the access token granted during OAuth. We never ask for (or store) your Shopify password.

2) Create and publish FAQs

In the dashboard you can create FAQs, edit them anytime, and organize them with categories. Publishing updates what appears on your storefront widget.

  • Draft vs published: drafts stay internal until you publish them.
  • Limits: plan limits control how many FAQs/categories you can publish.

3) How the widget appears on your storefront

FAQFlow delivers the widget as a small script that loads asynchronously. Depending on your plan and configuration, you can enable it on the FAQ page and/or product pages.

  • Fast by default: the widget is designed to be lightweight and non-blocking.
  • Theme-safe: no manual theme edits required for most installs.

4) Customization (colors, layout, placement)

Customize the widget to match your brand: colors, typography, placement rules, and layout options (plan dependent). Changes are previewable and can be rolled back anytime.

5) Analytics & reporting

Analytics helps you understand what shoppers care about: which questions are viewed/clicked, what’s being searched, and what’s unanswered (plan dependent).

This is the feedback loop: write FAQs → publish → see what’s used → improve.

Security & permissions

FAQFlow uses Shopify OAuth. Permissions are requested during install and used only to provide the app functionality. Tokens are stored securely and transmitted over HTTPS.
